About Us
Falleros Dance Company has gone through several incarnations since it began back in 2003. It was originally the brainchild of Ivan Scales who created the Cambridge Salsa Team from a competitive class he ran in Cambridge back in 2003. In it's second year we joined under the umbrella of CDC (Cambridge Dancers Club) to be their competitive arm and then later became Barranco. After growing rapidly the team took the decisions to be independant and became the Cambridge Salsa Team again and started performing for corporate events and on the wider scene. Having become national over the past few years and likely international in 2012 we relaunching our performance group as the Falleros Dance Company for the national circuit (Falleros, pronounced [Fai-yer-os], for those interested means firestarters in Valencian) but will remain the Cambridge Salsa Team for all local interests, balls, teaching etc.
Our members are all experienced On1 dancers and many are either current or ex dance teachers. Having been instrumental in organising salsa events and salsa balls in the East Anglia area our members also have broad experience of both the Cuban and On2 style both socially and teaching across the levels.
